Message Even in their diagram, they point out that what they are doing is fixing a case of poor quality. I have not looked up the airworthiness of these seals, but I doubt that they have been approved.
An AN fitting is designed to seal over a fairly large, precision surface. The rise in popularity of AN fittings in the automotive world has caused plenty of manufacturers to join the party and make their own "AN" hardware. Unfortunately they are not as high quality and they can be a PITA to seal. ANplumbing.com (Earl's Store #1) does not sell AN standard fittings.
That said, the Flaretite seals look like a good idea, and I would not doubt that they would seal well. They are probably single use, but if they are cheap enough, that could be a minor issue.
